As i sit here listening to Michael Buble on the random playlist Grooveshark has created for me, i felt a poignancy of his words talking about 'a new dawn, a new day, a new life', i appreciate these are not Mr Buble(funny e omitted)s words, but he does sing them in such a dreamy way.
To the point, i thought that i shall combat my increased level of boredom by blogging about said boredom. I am currently sitting in a rather bleak office in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Cornell in Ithaca, NY, USA. I can see the famous clock tower from across the quad and the season is just right that some of the trees are just deciding to turn flame red, ember orange and sun yellow, while others are stubbornly remaining their summer green. This is emphasized when one stares across the valley towards the lake and you can see a rather blotchy yellow, orange, red and green horizon.
I'm sure blogging is like getting that toy you always wanted when you were a child at Christmas, you start off with all these intentions and ideas as to approach the ownership of this new fun filled implement, without fully realising that in a few days you will be bored of it. However, the duality of the situation does not escape me, what if it's like your first musical instrument and you go on to become extremely talented at said instrument. I guess the question boils down to what makes a good blogger and what makes a good blog.
I think the first decision i am going to make is not to post anything about past experiences, in a kind of spiritual rebirth-esque fashion. Perhaps the random information i end up posting on here might build a picture of who i am. In this pseudo-anonymity i guess this means i will not publish this blog on other social networking sites, like facebook.
One question that confronts me is how to get the blog read by people. I guess it'll just have to be interesting enough to turn a few heads.
Well the first post of (hopefully) many is behind me, and what have i learnt? Perhaps this blogging stuff is a form of new age, modern, masturbation of the mind, as it doesn't seem to really contain much of any use at all. Perhaps that's the best way for it to be.
